Pfalzbau Ludwigshafen

2nd Prize, limited competition

The goal of the competition was to remodel the 5000 square meter foyer in the Pfalzbau in Ludwigshafen. The utility and flexibility of the foyer were to de increased dramatically.
The new design allows for the traditional use of the foyer for plays, concerts and even exhibitions while providing large and small rooms for conferences. As an entirety the foyer has enough capacity to hold a new year’s ball. Restaurant facilities were created, which could be used in conjunction with different events, yet completely independent of the main foyer.
Additionally and experimental stage and an open-air stage and movie theater were created.
